I once had a professor who told me that for every positive news story aired there were at least 500 negative news stories in a day’s time. That means we are bombarded day in and day out with news items that are, or can be, depressing and more importantly our children are being exposed to the darker side of life.
The question is; how do you combat this negative atmosphere and help our children find ways to build lives based on hope? We need to teach our children that by giving others “hope” they are also giving themselves hope. Charity is not just a “politically correct” thing to do, we will leave that to business, however it is an act that will bring love and hope into their lives as well as the recipients of the charity. Please feel free to post a blog detailing an inspiring story, that you would like to share with others.
You are never alone when you are helping others.
There are blogs and websites that post almost daily inspiring stories that warm the heart and are good lessons to share with our children. For example, Good News Shared.
